Presidential Pool Speech
"Goodbye freshman year, hello sophomore year.
In about a month's time, our wonderful freshman year will finally end
and we will begin to get ready for the challenge
of a new year...sophomore year.
My name is Savion Garcia,
and I am running for the sophomore presidential pool.
This past year, we've all had our ups and downs,
our highs and lows, our triumphs and defeats.
One day, maybe you got a high grade on your test,
but on another day, you stayed up until 4am doing a project.
One day, maybe you scored the winning goal that sends you to the finals,
but on another day, you scored the decisive own goal
that cost your team the championship.
One day, maybe you dominated your opponents in Super Smash,
but on another day, you lost 5 consecutive lives, which cost you the match.
It is our downs, our lows, that are painfully remembered.
BUT... it is what we do from there, that defines our character,
that defines you as a leader.
When you have bad days, you push yourself, you take risks,
and most importantly, you believe you can get through it.
We must believe in each other, in order to make the Class of 2018 strong.
I believe in each and everyone of you.
I appeal to you to believe in me.
