Sid Garcia, a man I’ve never met, sent me these photographs recently. Twelve pictures taken over the last twelve years. It’s his hand with the hand of his young son.
I put this tip in spontaneously, prompted by a most thoughtful email I received a couple of days ago. It was from Sid Garcia—we’ve never met. It read:
Was touched by my son, Raphael (One Really Cool Guy), this morning. He was willing to sacrifice his lunch money to pay for our McDonald's drive thru breakfast as his birthday treat. My father heart was caught in the middle, not knowing what to do -- will I let him sacrifice his lunch money and thus, let him to go hungry later, to affirm his sacrificial spirit of giving and receive his blessing? Or will I not allow that he go hungry as a good father should, and yet let him treat me for breakfast? Both are good directions for his heart. What should I do?...
