NO NO NO

The children learned not to start sentences with a 'No'. Nicolas agreed and remarked, "That's right. My girl classmates, they always say no." He then turned to his brother and quietly said, "They always say 'No' when I ask them, 'Can you be my girlfriend?'"

BIRTHDAY CARD for LOLA LINDA

MY MATRESHKA

January 30 is the birthday of Savion and Nicolas' grandmother,
Lola Linda ✜.
She bequeathed a collection of over 70 sets of Matreshka dolls
to her grandchildren.
A Matreshka, a Matryoshka, a Babushka doll or a Russian nested doll, also called a stacking doll, is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside the other. "Matryoshka" (Матрёшка) is a derivative of the Russian female first name "Matryona", which was a very popular name among peasants in old Russia. The name "Matryona" in turn is related to the Latin root, "mater" and means Mother. So the name is closely connected with motherhood and in turn the doll has come to symbolize fertility.

SLEEPING IDOL

Just before bedtime, my friend's daughter, Issa and her mother watched an episode of "American Idol." There was a blind man who auditioned and made it through the next round.
Issa asked her mom, "Is he blind?" Issa added, "Wow! Must be easy for him to sleep!"

BEATLES BEATING

With much concern for Nicolas' broken heart, Savion telephoned his mother saying, "Mom, what will I do? I've been trying to cheer up Nicolas because his classmate doesn't like him anymore. I've been singing to him - 'Let It Be, Can't Buy Me Love, Love Me Do, She Loves You, All You Need is Love, Yesterday, Hello Goodbye...' What should I do?"
